Autumn News

 In Unimenta Blog

I just love the Autumn – it has got to be one of my very favourite times of year. It’s about new beginnings, much more so than January…. Summer is over, schools go back after a long break and hopefully we’ve all had a holiday. There are wonderful scents in the air – misty bonfires and a slight tinge of cold. We have got so much going on this Autumn that I thought it was worth writing a separate blog all about it!

Read on for news on the podcast, book, events and workshops…

Season 4 podcast – launched 9th September and taking you all the way  through to December every Monday morning with a fresh episode. In this season I’ve chosen to keep every episode to an interview with someone amazing who, for me, somehow embodies the 7 skills. So I talk to a mix of people – from an incredible airline pilot to a celebrity gospel choir director – understanding their stories, their journeys and their top tips for living your best life. Tune in on all major podcasting platforms – the name of the podcast? 7 Skills for the Future!

Workshops and consultancy –  We are continuing to deliver our 7 Skills workshop to law firm Cameron McKenna throughout the Autumn in Edinburgh, London, Bucharest and Warsaw with law firms Ashurst and Clifford Chance not far behind. We are working closely with University College Birmingham to roll out workshops to their students from January 2020. Our consultancy work has been a mix of researching the needs of migrant workers from South Asia to supporting the development of a new wellbeing pilot for universities being launched this Autumn in the UK. We’re also building on the Summer focus group to work with Pearson on developing 7 Skills materials for schools – due to launch in Spring 2020. Our work with young people goes from strength to strength – read more here.

What else are we doing? – we are launching online tasters of the 7 skills as a way to develop longer online sessions. We’re also excited that publishing rights to 7 Skills for the Future have been bought to translate it into Arabic, Mandarin and Italian as well as a special edition to be published in India only. The book will also be presented at Frankfurt’s prestigious International Book Fair in October 2019. Frankfurter Buchmesse is the world’s most important marketplace for print and digital content so it’s a real honour to be featured there. It’s also an extraordinary social and cultural event. Every October, publishing experts, writers, creative professionals and fans come from all over the world to network, hold discussions, negotiate, take decisions, be amazed and celebrate.
